The Obama Epoch Begins

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Well January 20, 2009 will go down in history for many reasons, one of which is that it is proof that America has grown and matured. I was present for the Inauguration event held at our UCF (University of Central Florida) Student Union. It was in the middle of the building on the ground floor broadcast on a huge projection screen – as well as other smaller TV’s all throughout the building. What I noticed among the crowd of students was a local Fox 35 News Cameraman capturing the big screen with his camera through the crowd. I was thinking – how he wasn’t filming the students watching the event he was actually capturing the event on the screen – I was behind him and I was watching through his viewfinder and found it quite interesting… being that I am also taking a Mass Communications minor for my degree – therefore the dynamics of the event and all the side idiosyncrasies taking place at once were – well I guess I could just say I was in awe at the magnitude of it all. I was honored to be present on campus for this moment and enjoyed viewing it from my vantage point. I’m including the photo of the cameraman that I captured with my handy-dandy iPhone – good thing I think fast ;-)

Inspirational Video Everyone Needs To Watch!

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

I’ve added a link to a video that I believe everyone needs to take a few minutes out of their busy lives to watch. This was shared with me by a dear friend and I am spreading the video to as many people that are willing to watch it because it’s just that worth it. I found it extremely inspirational and every once in a while we all need a lift. The link to this video is on the right side and it’s called ” Finish Strong ” – please click it and watch it – you will be happy you did!

What A Miracle

Thank goodness that U.S. Airways pilot had such skill to land that plane safely in the Hudson today – he saved his life along with everyone else’s – what a hero!

Back To School…

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Here we go again… yet another semester begins. This time I am only taking 4 courses – I don’t think (other than a summer session) that I’ve ever had such a light load – it just turned out to be that way – completing my Biological Life studies & Health studies for my IDS BS as well as my final Pre-Med Pre-Req course of Physics II. Next year I will complete my Mass Communications coursework and not sure what else at this point in time – but whatever I need to complete my BS degree. I decided to keep this semester science/health/medical focused and based as I gear up toward taking my MCAT once again as well. All in all I am expecting a great semester and looking forward to it. So far the classes look to be interesting and fun – that’s always a plus!

On a personal note I found this new product called skiniD (www.skinid.com) made by Neutrogena and it seems to be a miracle – let’s hope it helps keep the zits away during midterms and finals! I’m glad I found it my face looks better already – it’s amazing that at my age I am still fighting “teenage acne” isn’t it? Sometimes we just have to play the hand we’re dealt I suppose, I’m glad I now have something to help fight it though :-)

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!! Let’s all hope that 2009 will bring only good things for everyone. I am a lot closer to my goal of medical school now with only Physics 2054 left to complete for my Pre-req’s!! I suppose it was inevitable that I would attain this point – just seems that I’ve gotten here faster than I’d have expected. Just got off Carnival Fascination cruise ship – was the perfect way to recharge and ready for the next semester, I am looking forward to it and to attaining 4 more A’s!! I’m so blessed and life is great these days. Let the classes begin – I love to learn! :)
