Methyl Orange Dye
Well we made methyl orange today in organic chemistry lab. Kind of very interesting to go from purple in the first reaction, to a a crimson red type color in the second reaction, to a yellowish color during the process and on to an orange liquid. Once processing was complete we would up filtering out the solid orange dye. Pretty amazing how things come to life right in front of your eyes in organic lab, it’s one of my more enjoyable moments in school - since I love to watch things be made or processed.Â
