Transient Student

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

Gosh that sounds so awful to me - makes me feel like a hobo or a tramp :-) - But apparently that is just what they call it when you are attending one college for credit/degree and jump into another for a course or two if yours doesn’t offer one for you. SO this summer B session, I’ve worked my butt off to find me courses to take (that I need for my AA degree - to help further my education/degree along) via Internet and found two that will work out perfectly. I have more work to do to get registered for them and all - I tell ya they sure don’t make this an easy process - they ought to give college credit out just for successfully being able to navigate all the college’s web sites and registration procedures and let’s not mention their course schedules - yeah that ought to be worth 3 college credits right there! :-) I’ll be taking Intro to Philosophy (PHI2010) and a required computer course called Intro to Microcomputers (CGS1100) … whew now that I have that out of the way… I can go back to studying for the 2nd Trig test!

Attack of the killer ice cube…

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Here I was sitting at the table waiting for my lunch to be served at an Olive Garden restaurant on Monday (lunchtime) and the waiter had an accident all over me. Now normally I’d be upset wearing the diet soda, I mean it went everywhere, my handbag even got drenched in it (will have to get a new one) and when I went to the ladies room on my way out I had soda inside my pants and underwear, I mean I think I wore most of the diet cola drink, except for one small part of it. Apparently, and I haven’t taken physics yet, so I don’t know how this happened - but somehow, some way an ice cube must’ve ricocheted off the table and into my right eye and actually cut my eye. I knew I got hurt in the eye but was in shock (and pain) more than anything else. Who ever could have expected an ice cube (though their cubes are half a circle - one side rounded the other flat and apparently very sharp) to pop into my eye just long enough to cut the conjunctiva and hurt me like that? On my way home (thank goodness I wasn’t driving) I had to go to the eye doctor and have it examined and he prescribed medication drops - it’s still hurting me as I write this. Talk about freaky things happening to you!

Look what I got!! :-)

Finally got to meet Dr. Williams…

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Well I took Humanities I with Dr. Williams after taking his English 2 class (which was an web based course) and I finally had the pleasure to meet him in person - he’s awesome!! Of course I knew he would be based upon the online English literature course he gave us.

Needles & Pins

Monday, May 7th, 2007

Okay so it should be pins & needles :-) We’re waiting to see if our Trigonometry class will commence or not. Apparently the school has a policy that they need at least 8 people for a class to go on - and we’re at 6 now… I doubt we’re going to get more students by tomorrow - so I’m hoping the class will commence - especially since I need to move on to Precalculus so that I can complete Calculus at SFCC prior to moving on to a 4 year school, since I need Calculus to be ready to take Physics when I get to the 4 year school. Crossing fingers…

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

Well I got the results of my College Algebra final and I got an A!!!! :-) Down to 1 more final and 1 more grade left this semester (in Biology 1) - I feel pretty confident about it too - since I am going into the comprehensive final with a 92.4 class average - after my 98 on the last class test I took today - I feel fairly confident I will end this class with an A as well… stay tuned…
